a mysterious hive
Jeffrey Haines and David Johnson hail from opposite coasts yet collaborate like neighbors creating an indefinable sound bereft of stereotypical subjugation.
Johnson, a Baby Boomer, carries a past marked by extraordinary challenges. His early life was shadowed by abandonment in a cult called Synanon, an experience that left deep and lasting impressions. Later, he faced and overcame a struggle with addiction.
Emerging from these trials, David found solace and expression in music. He developed skills as a self-styled sound engineer and musician, and is now one half of the enigmatic musical duo, Hidden Artifact.
Haines has lived a life immersed in music. Playing in bands since the age of 14 and working most of his adult life in and around the music business, he is a consummate "Music Nerd".
The unique challenge of creating music 3000 miles away from his musical partner has been both unexpected and fulfilling and has resulted in a melding of electronic and organic elements that define the sound of Hidden Artifact.
